Job scope:
To provide the RAS with a consistently high standard of work, line marking the Animal Walk at the Sydney Royal Easter Show and refreshing the safety line marking around drainage areas and back of house areas around the Arena fire exits. Every year, the works must be completed ahead of deadline to ensure the event opens on time.

Project outcome:
For over 20 years, Kenex has been engaged by the Royal Agricultural Society (RAS) of New South Wales to complete safety and specialty line marking work at the Sydney Royal Easter Show. The 2-decade long relationship reflects the value, trust and certainty that Kenex brings to the RAS through our services.

Over the years, the team have marked the Animal Walk pathway in many different colours. In 2023, as the major sponsor of the pathway, Kenex were honoured to paint it their corporate colour – Kenex Green. The bold colour provided a striking backdrop for the large crowds to help guide them along the 1.2km walk.

Running from 6 April – 17 April 2023, in just 12 short days, the Easter Show attracted 1.5 million attendees. The Animal Walk pathway utilises specialty line marking to help guide these families to ensure they don’t miss out on over 10,000 animals on view at the show. “Similarly to our traffic management work that is completed daily, we’re ensuring people follow the correct flow of traffic through the event. Creating a smooth flow of traffic regardless of the industry or event is crucial for safety and efficiency.”

Amidst the Animal Pathway work, the Kenex team also completed behind the scenes work that often gets overlooked, including giant hatchings and outlining of stormwater drains. This work is crucial in ensuring the smooth running of the large-scale event by creating safety, efficiency and compliance.
